The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) comprises two main parts:

1.  Joint Entrance Examination Main – JEE Main

2.  Joint Entrance Examination Advanced – JEE Advanced

JEE Main serves as both an admission test for National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions, as well as an eligibility criterion for appearing in the JEE Advanced exam.

Academic Qualifications
Candidates must have passed Class 12
Subjects Required
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): Physics, Mathematics, and any of Chemistry, Biology, or Biotechnology. Paper 2A (B.Arch): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Paper 2B (B.Planning): Mathematics is mandatory.
Age limit
No age restriction for appearing in JEE Main. (Check individual institute criteria for age limits.)
Minimum Marks in Class 12
For NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs: 75% aggregate or top 20 percentile in Class 12. For SC/ST candidates: 65% aggregate.
Number of Attempts
Maximum of three attempts in consecutive years.
State of Eligibility
Determined by the state where the candidate appeared for the Class 12 examination.
Nationality
Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs are eligible.
Important Considerations
Candidates from non-recognized boards need an equivalency certificate from the AIU.

Candidates will be offered admission based on their preferences and All India Ranks of JEE (Main) 2024 through a seat allocation process conducted by CSAB/JoSAA, the details of which will be announced later.
